Rapido 60 CONSTRUCTION
The Rapido 60 is a female molded production Trimaran built using the most up to date technology available today for composite molding.
Hulls and decks are infused in one go where all laminates and foam cores are created as one air free component. Foam cores are thermoformed to 3D templates for a perfect fit and eliminates the need for cuts in the core which fill with excess resin. There is no better way to build a female molded production boat.
All bulkheads are infused on a flat table for maximin strength and light weight.
Carbon Fibre is the predominate laminating material throughout the construction of the boat. It is used in many forms as specified by our design team Morrelli Melvin. Double Bias, 0/90, unidirectional dry cloths with Divinycell cores are used predominately in the the hulls and decks and bulkheads , floors and furniture .
The Beams are a major structural component which is built in our 8.5 Metre long Autoclave (one of the few found in a boat building factory around the world)
The beams are made from massive amounts of unidirectional and double bias prepreg carbon fiber cured under heat and several atmospheres of pressure in our huge autoclave.
Rudders, rudder cases, Daggerboard, Daggerboard Case, Chainplates incorporated into their bulkheads , are all also built using Epoxy Prepreg Carbon laminates cured in our Autoclave .
▪ Exterior finish is solid color Aquaguard gelcoat (light color) which has been proven to be the most durable surface finish for boats .
▪ All horizontal deck surfaces are white with choice of non skid color
▪ Hull bottoms: finished with Epoxy primer
▪ Interior living areas painted satin finish, Rapido Trimarans Luxury Yachts standard to save weight and eliminate heavy interior liners
▪ All furniture is constructed with PVC foam cores and high quality veneers to be super light without losing a quality appearance .
Some furniture is finished in a metallic Urathane paint or clear coated veneers with matt or gloss paint depending on the customers preference.
▪ Orange Non-skid paint is applied under beams for safety in the unlikely event of a capsize .
